We seek to provide a space where alumni can feel connected to the school, connected to each other and essentially know there is a support network out there should they need it.

We engage our Old Gowers with a range of events every year; including an Annual Dinner, class reunions and a Summer Drinks event. Please click here for our upcoming events programme.

Old Gowers can offer support in a variety of ways, through philanthropic support, offering careers guidance, helping with networking events, or offering talks to students. Please email us at [email protected] if you are able to help.

Strengthening alumni relations

We are keen to keep in contact with all our Old Gowers, and send The Bentham (termly) and The Gower (annual) to all our alumni. If you are not receiving this currently, please get in contact with us at [email protected] to update your details.

The Old Gowers’ Association also runs a number of successful sports teams, including football, rugby, hockey, cricket, tennis and golf, enjoying the benefits of UCS’s first-class facilities.

As well as email we share stories, offer invitations and keep in touch with our Old Gowers through UCS Connect and our LinkedIn page. With more Old Gowers these resources will grow and become even stronger, so please sign up now.

Old Gower Stories

“Old Gowers continue to play a big part in the life of the school, from sports clubs to career support and donating time and money. We are lucky and proud to have OGs as part of the UCS community.”

Edd Pickering Director of Development and Alumni Relations

“The one-to-one care from form and subject teachers allowed me to achieve things I would never have thought possible. The learning values instilled in me allowed me to flourish. Thank you: my life wouldn’t be the same without the stellar education and cultural experiences UCS gifted me.”

Jovana Pepic UCS pupil, 2016–2018

“UCS gave me good fellowship and a strong foundation in all subjects. Building on that foundation I have been able to enjoy much success and pleasure in career and family. The years at UCS remain a cherished and warm memory with me.”

David McCallum UCS pupil, 1945–1949

“The connection that leavers feel to UCS is second to none and serves as testament to their experiences here at the Senior School.”

Andrew Wilkes Deputy Head (Pastoral)

“The real highlight of UCS for me was the people – teachers and pupils. I made some truly amazing memories that I will continue to cherish. Wherever life may take me, I will always be indebted to the school for its generosity and kindness.”

Nadir Rahman UCS pupil, 2013–2020

“The atmosphere was so warm and friendly. Teachers were always willing to explore questions beyond the syllabus and this made lessons enriching and enjoyable. My teachers showed I could do things I wouldn’t have thought myself capable of. I am so happy I studied at UCS.”

Daevasyaa Murraletharan UCS pupil, 2018–2020

“It's difficult to find the words to fully express the gratitude for all of this.”

Mark Gilmore UCS pupil, 1960–1969
