The Frognal reviews Summer Term at UCS

The Summer Term edition of school publication The Frognal has all bases covered: news, academic enrichment, partnerships and community, performing arts, sport, the new team of Monitors (aka prefects) … and, of course, the esoteric world of Scottish bothies!

As well as applauding the events and achievements of the past term, The Frognal also reflects on the conclusion to a successful year in the life of UCS. Excellence has imbued pupils’ efforts and endeavours in activities ranging from enrichment programmes to external competitions, via volunteering, Deme (or house) competitions and so much more besides.

Add in the way pupils have accepted and completed challenges in the co-curricular ‘holy trinity’ of music, drama and sport, and there is plenty to celebrate. This is the impressive array of activities in which UCS students have developed academically and crucially as young people.

In the words of Headmaster, Mark Beard: “Schools are about more than what we know and what we can do. They are about who we are and what we must do to help others become what they might be. The positivity and energy the pupils have displayed give me hope of an exciting future for all of them, and for UCS. They really have achieved a great deal.”
