The Junior Branch offers a diverse selection of co-curricular popular activities, before, during and after school. Boys are encouraged to participate in a number of activities to encourage inspiration, new friendships, increased self-esteem and experience.
Club selection varies on a termly basis and broadly falls within the boundaries of the intellectual such as subject extensions, Chess, Coding, Mandarin and Portuguese; the Arts such as Drama, Music, Oil Painting and Cookery Clubs which make full use of the on-site Art and kitchen facilities; and the sports clubs such as Basketball, Kidsquad, Fencing, Karate, Swimming and Table Tennis. During the Spring term of 2017, there were 37 clubs available for boys to enjoy.
Club choice and provision generally depends on the interests of staff and popular demand. Staff-led clubs are free of charge whist clubs run by outside providers such as Chess, Karate, Table Tennis and Fencing charge for weekly club sessions.
Pupil-led clubs such as War Hammer Club and Card Club are suggested and organised by pupils with a supervising adult and provide opportunities for entrepreneurship and responsibility and have proved to be very popular.
