Applications for 7+ entry have now closed. Applications for 7+ entry in 2019 will open on 1st January 2018.
Approximately 60 boys aged 7 will be admitted into three classes each year. Registration takes place between 1st January and 31st October, the year before entry.
All applicants will be invited to the School during the Autumn Term in small groups. Parents will have the opportunity to meet the Headmaster and be taken on a tour of the School by him, whilst their sons are given listening/discussion exercises and a reading assessment by the Year 3 Co-ordinator.
A confidential report is requested from each candidate's current school and this plays an important part in the selection procedure. The entrance assessment in January will consist of English, Maths and Reasoning (verbal and non-verbal) tests. Tests will be administered in classrooms by two teachers who will also observe social interaction and behaviour. The boys will have the opportunity to play, and will be given light refreshments during the three-hour period they attend the school. Families who are not successful in obtaining a place for their son at age 7 may put his name on a waiting list should a place become available.
Open Evenings (4.30 - 5.30pm) are held each year and parents are advised to bring their sons to one of them. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the School with a present pupil, talk to staff and meet the Headmaster.
