OBE MA Co-opted to UCS Council in 2004 and elected Chairman in May 2015. Also Chairs the International Development Committee.
Simon was born in London and he attended Whitefield Comprehensive and then Brasenose College Oxford from 1978-1981 where he studied for a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. After graduation he went to the University of California at Berkeley as a Fulbright Scholar studying for an MA in Political Science. He spent a period of time working as an Intern to Senator Bill Bradley in Washington DC. Prior to his current role as Chief Executive of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe, Simon held the post of Director of Communications at Buckingham Palace, 10 Downing Street, Centrica and Vodafone. He was awarded the OBE in the 2014 Honours List for public services to international education through the Fulbright Commission. Simon is married with three children, two of whom have attended UCS.
