The Phoenix's visit to The Museum of Childhood

The Year 1 children are very much looking forward to their History trip to the famous 'Museum Of Childhood' in Bethnal Green on 22nd April where they will be given the opportunity to explore toys from the past and present in the form of a workshop. They will also discuss how life has changed for children over the last hundred years and will even try on some different clothing from Victorian times! The exhibition currently showing is Sweet. Sweet features buildings created from the produce of the colonial trade made by artist Jaimini Patel. Her detailed sugar and spice models are made from the very commodities that fortunes were built on. Models based on London buildings, made by primary and secondary school children from packaging to chocolate and other sweet things, are displayed alongside… architecture you can eat! It promises to be a very exciting day!
