The enormous majority of our GCSE students choose to stay on into the Sixth Form, where they are joined by some entrants from other schools, to study over two years for AS and A-level. Entry to the Sixth Form from September 2015 involves passing a low-level hurdle based on GCSE grades. Please speak with the admissions team or Deputy Head Academic for more details.
We aim to offer a minimum of 35 places to girls aged 16 or over each year. A small number of places will also be available for boys of the same age. Selection will be by means of the UCS 16+ Assessment. The Assessment will not be subject-specific, but will be an objective test of thinking, reasoning and problem-solving skills. A confidential report (including a forecast of GCSE grades, or equivalent) will be requested from each candidate’s current school. As many candidates as possible will be called to UCS for interview following the Assessment. Offers of places will be made to successful candidates in December. These offers must be firmly and finally accepted or declined at that time. Offers may be conditional upon GCSE results.
Needs-based financial assistance with fees is available, as well as Music Awards. A separate application needs to be made for Music Awards. Please see the music section of the website for more details and an application.
