| Here at The Phoenix, we firmly believe that happiness and self-esteem is the key to success in every pupil’s learning journey. The well-qualified and highly supportive staff accompany each child on a voyage of educational and social discovery during their first years of school life.
The Phoenix School joined the UCS Foundation of schools in 2002 and fully supports the aims and ethos of UCS: intellectual curiosity and independence of mind are developed, self-discovery and self-expression are fostered and a co-operative and collaborative approach to learning is of great importance.
For every child in our care, we provide a continuously positive and creative learning environment that allows the individual the opportunity to develop their personal qualities and talents. We are able to cater for up to 140 pupils aged 3-7 in our well-resourced classrooms. At the end of Year 2, both girls and boys transfer to a range of local independent schools. Whilst it is hoped that most boys will transfer to the Junior Branch of UCS this is not automatic and is subject to meeting the required standard in the entrance examination.
The best way to experience The Phoenix and its warm atmosphere is through a visit to the school itself. I look forward to being able to share with you, what I believe, is a very unique and exciting school.
