In the current economic climate, graduates are having more and more difficulty beginning their careers. Experience in one's chosen field is now necessary in order to find even an unpaid internship with many companies. We at UCS are committed to helping students to succeed beyond their school days, so we'd like to connect with our Old Gowers who might be interested in bringing a current UCS pupil into their workplace.
Ideally, the students will be provided with a specific project that will enable them to develop workplace skills, including leadership, teamwork, working to deadlines and problem solving. If this is not feasible, then any sort of work shadowing lasting between one week and two months will be beneficial. The idea is to provide students with an insight into the field, as well as something to talk about in an internship interview.

Transitus Careers Evening - 19th June 2013
The School is holding a careers evening for current Transitus pupils on 19 June from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The aim is to provide pupils in that year group with an opportunity to discuss possible career choices with individuals in that field. While we would like to hear from anyone keen to talk about their careers, we are particularly keen to find professionals in the following fields:

Specialist Careers Hour - 20th June 2013
UCS is holding a specialist careers event for current Transitus pupils on 20 June from 9:15 to 10:15am. Similar to the above in format, we are keen to hear from Dentists, Veterinarians, Psychologists/Psychiatrists, Architects and Engineers.
